MEET OUR YACHT

Cryptic has been sailed for the last ten years by retired Fleet Street journalists Ron Pell and Allan Stein. Now, sadly, age and creaking joints force the old hacks to seek less energetic pursuits.

A time of our lives

The Contessa 32, still in production after nearly 40 years, has become Britain's favourite cruiser-racer, with stability and seakeeping qualities that have long been a benchmark for boat designers.

We have used her only for cruising and believe she is now very well equipped to do that job with safety and comfort. Here are some musings about our ten years under her care ...
